Prayer

Prayer is a key part of life at St. Mary’s – and there are a number of opportunities for people to gather together to pray for local or world situations issues. Please contact us for more details.

There are weekly prayer meetings that take place every Wednesday evening 8pm – 9pm. This prayer meeting, called 'the Source' allows us to pray before the weekend about all that is happening as well as cover other issues that may arise. It begins with worship and singing and then consists of bible passages being read and prayers being offered up as we are led by the Spirit.

Once a month in the evening our homegroups take it in turns to provide the opportunity to come together with others from our church family to pray. We meet in church and the format of the evening varies – sometimes it takes the form of café style worship providing fresh coffee and prayer, and other times we might watch a thought-provoking DVD that takes us into prayer or other times we simply gather together and pray. We pray together for about an hour about current world issues and more local concerns and seek to uphold the ministries of St. Mary’s.

We also have Prayer in the various Home Groups which happen on a regular basis. Many of the groups meet in the evening but there is also a daytime group.
